The Set Theatre in Kilkenny has been crowned the Rest of Leinster Live Music Venue of the Year at last night’s prestigious Hot Press and IMRO Ireland awards in The Sugar Club in Dublin. Well done to everyone involved.

The Dáil will vote next Tuesday on a confidence motion in the Ceann Comhairle as the Government continues to strongly back Verona Murphy.
Five opposition parties have tabled a motion which states that the Ceann Comhairle no longer retains the confidence of all members of Dáil Éireann.
The Ceann Comhairle has “categorically” rejected what she said were the “totally unfounded allegations” around her part in the Dáil speaking rights row on Tuesday, and fully intends to continue in her role.

And finally, Kilkenny-based singer-songwriter Mick ‘Citern’ Walsh has hit an incredible milestone, surpassing 100,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.
The achievement has earned him YouTube’s prestigious Silver Creator Award.
Mick is a familiar voice on CRKC, appearing on a number of shows including Saturday at 5 with Frank Tynan. (Music)
