Kilkenny Community Cooperative Communications Society Ltd., trading as Community Radio Kilkenny City (CRKC) is looking for a new Station Manager. Community Radio Kilkenny City (CRKC 88.7FM) is one of Ireland’s leading community radio stations, operating under a 24x7x365 licence from Comisiún na Meán (CnaM). We are an award winning, community based station, promoting the aims and ideals of the communities we serve in Kilkenny City and beyond, and a member station of CRAOL, the association of community radio stations in Ireland. CRKC is primarily a volunteer operated station, led and supported by a small executive team under the control of the Station Manager, the Board and its subcommittees. We are now recruiting a new Station Manager, who will be responsible for :
- Managing all aspects of the station’s day to day technical and commercial operations.
- Providing financial and operational reports to the Board and attending Board and subcommittee meetings.
- Ensuring the station’s compliance with its broadcasting licence and its legal and regulatory obligations as a co-operative society.
- Leading the strategic planning of the Station’s future on behalf of the Board and reporting to the Board on same on a regular basis.
Candidates for the role of Station Manager should ideally have : - Broadcasting and journalistic experience.
- Strong verbal communication, networking and people management skills.
- Strong administrative skills with good attention to detail.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management awareness.
- Experience of securing grant funding.
- A solid understanding of the technical architecture of a radio station broadcasting on FM, streaming over the Internet and re-streaming through a number of radio apps.
- Strong IT skills.
- A full and clean driving licence.
The Station Manager role is full time (subject to a probationary period) and requires occasional attendance outside of normal Monday to Friday working hours.
