A Bake Sale Day for Temple Street is taking place on Saturday, April 28 from 1pm at Ossory Park Community Centre.

Parenting together is a monthly support group for parents with children with additional needs, its held on the second Monday of each month from 10am-11.30am in the Children’s Services Centre in Kilcreene

There is a table quiz in aid of the Homeless Mobile Butchers Account in The Orchard pub on the 28th of April at 7.30 The quiz master is Frank Bradley. All are welcome and please support this very worthy cause

Michael (Mog) O,Grady Tribute Night takes place in Set Theatre Friday on April 27th 8.30pm, Performing will be Brendan Ryder and The Backyard Band, Reel to Reel, illy Barron and Contraband,Willie Maher, John Brennan, Pat Ryan and more. Football Tournament for Suicide Awareness in The Watershed on Sunday 29 of April at 1pm. Raffle and face-painting with prizes on the day including a signed Celtic Jersey

St Canices Credit Union host a free information evening for parents and secondary school students on Wednesday 2ND May at 7pm in the Newpark Hotel Kilkenny, students and parents are invited to hear key note speakers give information on what to expect and the options after secondary school. The Credit Union will be launching their new Scholarship Programme for 3rd level education on the night. An Alzheimer’s Tea Day will be hosted in Danesfort Community Centre on Wednesday 2nd May. This is a major fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society and support would be very much appreciated. If you cannot attend, raffle tickets are available from any member of the Going Strong Club or contact 086 1666547.

The 3rd monthly session of the Children’s Book Club hosted at the Amber Restaurant in Bennettsbridge will take place on Thursday May 3. Come along and enjoy a cuppa while your children are entertained by a lady reading an extract from one of the wide selection of children’s books made available to us by Khans Bookshop in Kilkenny.

Loughboy Library will host its annual Tea Day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society on Thurs May 3rd from 10am-1pm. This Tea Day is a vital source of funding for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland and the funds raised will be used in Kilkenny to improve important services to support people with dementia and their families.

Novena of Our Lady of Fatima takes place between 5th-13th of May daily at 10.30am and 7.30pm and on Sundays at 3pm with Celebrant Fr Colm Mannion of the Black Abbey Kilkenny

Friends of St Luke’s Stroke Services are holding a 55K and 100K cycle on Saturday 5th of May at 10am in Stonyford Community Centre with all proceeds going to Friends of St Luke’s Stroke Services, Registration on the day at 9am and this is an over 18s event

A Fundraising Hurling Match between Kilkenny Legends and Waterford Legends will take place on Sunday 6th of May at 6pm in Kilmacow GAA grounds in aid of Pieta House and Teac Tom Kilkenny

On May 18 at the Village Club in Kilkenny a Table Quiz, organised by SOS Kilkenny, will take place at 8pm in aid of participants of the Special Olympics Ireland games. The Ciara Lawlor Memorial 5k Run / walk will take place in The Castle Park on Saturday May 20th at 11am. Registration for the event will take place at the Tennis Club from 10am. All members and friends of O’Loughlin Gaels are invited to take part alongside the senior hurling players at 10:30am to run in support of the Lawlor family and remember Ciara. All proceeds to be donated to the Ciara Lawlor Memorial for the charity The Ataxia Foundation.

A stroke support group takes place on the last Friday of every month at 2:30 pm in the Cardiac Rehab unit at St. Luke’s hospital Kilkenny. all stroke survivors, family members and carers welcome. The Involvement Centre at 10 Collier Lane is Wellness Centre which offers a warm and welcoming place for people who are suffering with mental health issues and for their family and friends but all are welcome .
